Squash players have four months to get in shape for Squamish's biggest squash tournament. The tournament is set for Feb. 10 to 12 at the Ó£ÌÒÊÓƵSquash Club courts on Mamquam Road in the clubhouse of the Ó£ÌÒÊÓƵValley Golf and Country.The tournament draws A level players from the Lower Mainland, Whistler and as far away as Washington State and Vancouver Island.

New course for Lunar Enduro

The 2005 Bill Landry Memorial Lunar Enduro will start at the Alice Lake group campsite at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 29.The six-hour race will take competitors up the main park road to Fawn Lake then onto the Four Lakes Trail down to Stump Lake and then back to the group camping area. The objective is to log as many laps as possible. Bonus laps will be awarded to those who ride in costume.

Almost half of the race is done in the dark, so bike lights are a must.

The event is open to individuals and teams. All teams and competitors have to be completely self-sufficient.Event details can be found at www.sorca.ca.

Pumpkin dive next weekend

The annual fall pumpkin dive is set for Sunday, Oct. 23 at Porteau Cove from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Divers will bring their own pumpkin. Participants will meet in the main parking lot at the marine park.

Prizes will be awarded for the scariest jack-o-lantern, the best carving job and there will be a prize for the person who brings the biggest pumpkin.
