Ringette returns to Brennan Park for opener

Sports

The Howe Sound Ringette Association brings fast-paced action to the Brennan Park ice rink during its season opener Saturday (Nov. 5). The hometown Novice team takes on Surrey at 11:25 a.m. The team of 13 boys and girls, aged seven to nine, are launching into a rigorous season of weekly home and away games in Langley, Burnaby, Port Coquitlam and Surrey.

The ringette association is experiencing renewed popularity with younger players this season.

The younger division Bunnies this year boasts 15 players aged five to seven, which is six players more than the roster usually holds.

The Bunnies have a shorter season, beginning in the New Year, although fans will get to cheer for their team during the annual tournament held in Delta in December.
