It marks a new era for the ӣƵcampus.

Capilano University has announced it is now accepting students for its new ӣƵcampus for the fall of 2024.

According to a news release, CapU is offering the following programs:

• , Interdisciplinary Studies and , Arts (curated courses, featuring courses focused on the environment and sustainability)

•

• (plus a roster of ECCE degree courses)

The release states that the university is in talks with Indigenous groups to create Indigenous-specific programming options.

The goal is to take in 120 students to study at the ӣƵcampus in September.

More courses will likely be added in future years.

“We are excited to welcome learners to Capilano University’s new ӣƵcampus in September,” said Laureen Styles, vice president, academic and provost, in the release. “We have assembled a selection of proven, sought-after programming options to meet the needs of a variety of learners in the region and beyond. We’re grateful for the support and interest from the community, and look forward to the continued growth that lies ahead to meet demand.”

It was revealed in August that, with help from the provincial government, the North Vancouver-based CapU had bought the shuttered Quest University campus, from Primacorp Ventures, after financial trouble forced Quest to stop offering its programming on the site.

Quest had sold its campus in 2020 to Primacorp to help pay off its debts. It then continued to operate on the campus, through a deal with Primacorp. Due to funding shortfalls, Quest stopped offering courses on the campus in the spring of 2023.

CapU says that existing Capilano University faculty and employees will fill some roles at the new ӣƵcampus, but they will also be hiring. All jobs will be posted on .
