Depot open!

The new Ó£ÌÒÊÓƵDOX recycle depot is finally going to open. 

 says that the Recycling Depot will open on Thursday, Sept. 26 at 40446 Government Road.

It will be open seven days a week from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

"This new facility will offer the residents of Ó£ÌÒÊÓƵand the surrounding areas a more convenient and efficient way for residents to manage their recyclables, making it easier than ever to contribute to our community's sustainability efforts," reads the Recycle BC Post.

Spit Road closure

With kiting season over, the Ó£ÌÒÊÓƵTraining Berm (Spit Road), will now be closed until Nov. 15, as Ó£ÌÒÊÓƵRiver Watershed Society (SRWS) crews install a third large fish-friendly box culvert.

"This feature will replace the current undersized culvert, which will improve fish access and allow freshwater to transfer into the central estuary channel from the Squamish River," reads a SRWS post.

"Squamish’s favourite night of stand-up, The Big Fat Comedy Show, is back with a stacked lineup to get your fall started with some big fat laughs," reads the listing.

Sept. 29, put on your gumboots and head to Ó£ÌÒÊÓƵRivers Day, 2024, starting at 1000 Midnight Way, Brackendale. The event is on from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.

"To honour our beautiful rivers and all the life it brings, we will be planting around the new fish pond at the hatchery. Planting will start at 10 a.m. and we will gather for a BBQ afterwards (~12 p.m.). Limited tours of the hatchery will be available throughout the day," reads the listing.

Oct. 3Max Ribner - Resilient Beings will play at Ó£ÌÒÊÓƵUnited Church, located at 38014 Fourth Ave, from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m.

Highway 99 issues to note

Highway 99, between Sea View Drive and Alpha Lake Rd for 61.5 km (2 km south of Ó£ÌÒÊÓƵto Whistler). The work is ongoing until Thursday, Sept. 26. The work is planned from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Watch for slow moving vehicle.

In Whistler, you can expect to pay 172.9/L.

In Pemberton, gas is selling for the cheapest, 171.9/L at AC Gas, located at 7432 Prospect St.

According to, the least expensive gas today in B.C. is again in Grand Forks, where you can fill up for 145.9/L, at Super Save Gas located at 773 Central Ave.
