Small plane has forced landing, airlifted out of Ó£ÌÒÊÓƵforest

Transport Canada says the privately registered Cessna made a forced landing on Aug. 25.

This isn’t something you see every day. 

A small plane has been spotted parked along the Mamquam Forest Service Road in Ó£ÌÒÊÓƵthis week.  

Transport Canada, which regulates the safety and security of the civil aviation system in Canada, told The Ó£ÌÒÊÓƵ that it is aware of a privately registered Cessna (C-GAKZ) that  made an emergency landing on Aug. 25, 2023. 

According to , C-GAKZ is a 54 year old Cessna 172K Skyhawk. 

It made a forced landing due to an engine failure, a Transport Canada spokesperson said. 

There were no fatalities or injuries reported to the department.

On Thursday, Aug. 31, locals saw the plane lifted and removed by helicopter.
