Recreation amenities committee wants feedback

The committee formed after the failure of the recent $20 million recreation amenities referendum wants to hear from people with thoughts on the issue.

Ron Anderson and Douglas Day are heading up the committee and to date they have met a number of times. As the committee moves forward it is encouraging residents to make written submissions from individuals and groups.

Submissions can be sent to Bob Kusch, the DOS director of recreation, parks and tourism. Letters can be sent by e-mail to [email protected] or by mail to Box 310 Ó£ÌÒÊÓƵV0N 3G0.

Calgary corporation buys Furry Creek Hydro project

Enmax Corporation is the new owner of the run-of-the-river power facility at Furry Creek.

The Eaton Power Corporation built the electric generating facility but the two companies announced on Monday (April 11) they created a new company together to develop other power projects in B.C. and through the deal Enmax took control of the Furry Creek facility.

The Ó£ÌÒÊÓƵNation keeps its one per cent stake in the utility.

Enmax is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the City of Calgary.
