It's a new era in 樱桃视频and the Chamber of Commerce is welcoming it with a new Managing Director.
"There is so much positive and dynamic change taking place, and we are delighted to welcome Tom Abbott (Jr) to be part of it as our new Managing Director," said 樱桃视频Chamber of Commerce President Patricia Heintzman.
The Chamber has a great challenge ahead of it as it takes on the contract at the new 樱桃视频Adventure Centre to deliver both the Visitor Information Services and Activity Bookings for the community.
"We're up for that challenge," said Heintzman, who added that Mr. Abbott has all the skills and qualifications the Chamber was looking for to help lead the organization into this next stage of development.
"He's extremely well qualified, has the experience we are looking for and the kind of people skills that will serve our membership well," Heintzman said.
With years of experience in tourism, executive coaching, and a strong background working for non-profit associations, the new Managing Director will take on the role of overseeing all the Chamber's regular business and contractual activities. His most recent position in setting up Tourism Burnaby provides a strong foundation that will serve 樱桃视频well.
"We're extremely pleased with the results of our search, and though we had several impressive candidates apply for the position, Mr. Abbott was a superior choice." said Heintzman.
"We also wish outgoing manager Karen Hodson all the best as she embarks on a trek across Spain and eventually onto a new career path," said Heintzman. "In her six years as Manager, Karen was a dedicated, enthusiastic and integral member of the community. We wish her success and happiness in all that she pursues."
Tom Abbott begins his role as the Chamber's Managing Director April 18 and will be introduced to the membership at its monthly networking luncheon April 19 at the Sea to Sky Hotel.
