B.C.'s Lieutenant-Governor, Iona Campagnolo, is coming to Ó£ÌÒÊÓƵcourtesy of Leadership Sea to Sky, and the public is invited to join them at Totem Hall June 16 to celebrate the group's graduation after eight months' hard work.

Program organizer William Roberts said the Lieutenant-Governor's expertise would be greatly valued.

"We want to bring Iona Campagnolo here because she is a top leader in both celebrating community development and collaborative leadership practice," he said.

"She has come out of a strong political background and played a key role in the Fraser Basin Council, working collaboratively to bring back the health of the Fraser River. She is a great example of what solid leadership can achieve."

Leadership Sea to Sky is a group of 12 individuals who play leadership roles in their communities throughout the corridor. Each participant has a different background and Roberts said the diversity of the group is a part of the scope of the program.

"We get together and talk about common issues and problems. We all live in the same valley so a lot of our issues are similar," he said. "The focus of the program is to have a wide variety of backgrounds of experiences. Right now we have artists, social workers, politicians, people involved with the Olympics, health professions, and a spa owner."

Campagnolo speaks at Totem Hall Friday, June 16 at 9:30 a.m. The public is welcome. Visit www.whistlerforum.com for more information.
