Mountain FM morning personality Rebecca Hall will sign off the radio airwaves next Friday (Sept. 2) to make the jump to television.
Along with injecting her personality in the radio morning show, Hall is the promotions director at Mountain FM. Her work in that capacity caught the attention of Vancouver's CTV 9. According to Hall, the TV station came to her after an opening was created in the CTV 9 promotions department.
She said she decided to go through the process and at the end of it she was offered the behind the scenes job at the TV station."It was the toughest decision of my life, I must say," Hall said.
When Hall went to school at BCIT she said she intended to make her way in front of the TV cameras, so while she loves her radio job she liked the idea of moving her career forward.
"I think I cried for 24 hours straight," she said.
She loves the morning show, she said and the thought of leaving the Sea to Sky corridor makes her sad.
"I just couldn't say no," said Hall.
She said she is really proud of how she helped turn the radio station around. When she started at Mountain FM, the operation wasn't held in high regard in the community, she said.
"I'm really proud of what I've done in the past three years since I've been here," said Hall.
