Draft version of Downtown report out

District of Ó£ÌÒÊÓƵCouncil got to see it on Aug. 2 and now anyone can see the initial Downtown Ó£ÌÒÊÓƵConcept PlanThe Smart Growth on the Ground team created the draft report after a charrette event in April. The draft report is intended to be a compilation of the ideas and concepts discussed in April.

The charrette team, Council members and District of Ó£ÌÒÊÓƵstaff are reviewing the document.

District staff were directed to generate a specific list of actions to implement the plan.

Hwy. 99 update

Work delays are scheduled to pick up again on Highway 99 between Horseshoe Bay and Whistler starting at 11 p.m. on Sunday (Aug. 28). Drivers should expect 15-minute delays between 11 p.m. and 3 a.m. on Sunday and then 30-minute delays from 3 to 6 a.m. Monday to Thursday, drivers should expect 20-minute delays between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. from Horseshoe Bay to Lions Bay and 10-minute delays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. between Lions Bay and Squamish. There is also a crew causing five-minute delays between Ó£ÌÒÊÓƵand Whistler from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The three daytime crews will cause delays from 9 a.m. to noon on Friday (Sept. 2).

Overnight work this week is taking place between Lions Bay and Horseshoe Bay causing 30-minute delays from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. with the last night shift of the week ending at 6 a.m. Friday.
