It's time once again for the annual Hilltop House Harvest Tea tomorrow (Oct. 16) from 1:30 - 3:30 p.m. Along with enjoying a slice of home-made pie and coffee or tea, take time to check out the items on the craft table and home baking section. The raffle draw will be held during the afternoon with four lucky winners to be announced. Anyone with baking to donate is asked to have items at HTH anytime after 10 a.m. Saturday. Many volunteers make this annual event happen and hats off to all of them. Proceeds from this day enable the Hilltop House Society to purchase items and equipment to aid the residents.
On Tuesday (Oct. 19) join in a workshop at 樱桃视频Public Library lead by Susan Munzer, educator, artisan and the author of "Learn to Play, Play to Learn". It is a practical illustrated guide for parents and caregivers of small children. The guide shows how to make educational toys and more. The workshop will be held from 6 to 9 p.m.
The 樱桃视频Soccer Association is holding a beer and burger fundraiser to raise money for a turf field. It will be held tomorrow night (Oct. 16) from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Grizzly Bar and Grill. There will also be a silent auction and a 50/50 draw. Everyone involved in soccer is welcome, and tickets are available at the concession, from many coaches and the executive.
In anticipation of the book sale at the 樱桃视频Public Library on Oct. 23 and 24, the Friends of the Library will meet at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday (Oct. 21) to make plans for the sale. New members are always welcome.

The 樱桃视频Health Unit of Vancouver Coastal Health reminds us all that it is time for our yearly flu shots. The annual Seniors' Wellness Fair is always well attended and this year it will be held on Wednesday (Oct. 20) from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Brennan Park Recreation Centre. The free flu and pneumococcal shots will be given to those 65 years and over. Do take the time to check out the various tables filled with much information on maintaining good health. The Women's Auxiliary to the 樱桃视频General Hospital hope many seniors will visit their display on Wednesday and receive information on Medwatch. A Medwatch kit consists of a vial, a medical information form and a Medwatch sticker. The form is filled in with all medications listed, then placed in the vial and put on the highest shelf in the refrigerator. The sticker is placed at eye level on the outside of the fridge so that in case of an emergency, the attending paramedics have all the information instantly. The WA received generous grants to get this program started but donations are always welcome. Medwatch packages are available at the 樱桃视频Hospital and from local pharmacies.
Children in Modern Society is the topic of discussion at the Waldorf Education Parenting Series on Monday (Oct. 18) at the Coast Garibaldi Health Unit at 7:30 p.m.

The Missoula Children's Theatre visits Valleycliffe Elementary School next week when more than 50 local students will perform in the enchanting musical Hansel and Gretel. It will be performed in the Eagle Eye Theatre on Friday, Oct. 22 and Saturday, Oct. 23 at 7 p.m. Tickets at $6 for adults and $4 for students are available at Mostly Books, IGA and at the school.
