After weeks of rehearsals, the large cast of the musical My Favourite Broadway is ready to take to the stage for the first eight performances beginning tonight (March 3) at the Eagle Eye Theatre at 7:30 p.m. What a huge undertaking it has been for director Ryan Mooney and his talented crew. Show times are also on Saturday (March 4) and March 8 to 11 at 7:30 p.m. along with matin茅es on Saturdays, March 4 and 11 at 2 p.m. The ticket outlet is at Billie's Bouquet at $14 for adults, $12 for seniors and students and $10 for children.
This evening (March 3) is also the World Day of Prayer service at St. John's Anglican Church at 7:30 p.m. The theme, Signs of the Times, was written by the women of South Africa. It was prepared and adapted for use in Canada by the Women's Inter-Church Council of Canada. An invitation is extended to all members of our community to attend. Following the service, refreshments will be served.
Many bowlers will be participating in the Big Brothers/Sisters of 樱桃视频in the annual bowling fundraiser. Teams get into action tonight (March 3) at Garibaldi Lanes at 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. On Friday, March 10 bowlers will also be in action. There is still time to get your team together or register as an individual to get on a team. Karen at 604-892-3125 would love to hear from interested participants. Non-bowlers can make a pledge in support of this fundraiser too. Drop by the lanes and urge your favourite team to victory. There is also a silent auction and door prizes.
The next distribution day for the 樱桃视频Food Bank is Wednesday (March 8) from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Trinity Hall, 樱桃视频United Church on Fourth Avenue. This month's contribution is sponsored by Golder Associates as part of the employee Christmas bonus program. The company is involved with highway construction in this area.
The Sea to Sky Family and Child Care Conference takes place at Brennan Park Recreation Centre tomorrow (March 4). The day-long training event for parents and professionals includes workshops on Making Music with Children, Introduction to American Sign Language, The High/Scope Approach to Problem Solving, and Laughter for Wellness. Pam Potts from Rise and Pay Preschool as well as Save-On-Foods will present a clinic in the store's parking lot on Tuesday (March 7) or Thursday (March 9) from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The children at the preschool will have their own Wee Care Kids clinic with the boys and girls dressed as doctors. They will be on hand to give health check-ups by donation and a sucker for being a good sport. Let's support the youngsters and the Children's Hospital!

The 2006 High School Reunion Committee would like people to know that the 1947-1963 high school reunion will take place in September.
