This film will unite the world

Cop Out Director: Kevin Smith Cast: Bruce Willis, Tracy Morgan, Seann William Scott Rated: 14A Running time: 110 minutes

You are right to have feelings about Kevin Smith. Many do.

Over the years he has definitely made lovers and haters of the many films he has both written and directed. But this is the first time he's directing a script he hasn't written. And what has been produced is a film that will unite the world.

Regardless of your previous feelings, all can agree that Cop Out is complete rubbish.

First of all it's a buddy cop movie, and while that has been done well in the past (see: Beverly Hills Cop, Lethal Weapon or more recently, Bon Cop Bad Cop), it has also been done very poorly.

This film desperately tries to tap into that '80s vibe, but just doesn't hit it. They even go so far as to use the Beverly Hills Cop soundtrack.

You could kinda tell it was going to be crap since Bruce Willis was playing yet another grumpy cop role. But Tracy Morgan is a hoot on 30Rock and Kevin Smith is usually good for some laughs but not this time.

I suppose in the end it is safe to say whether you are a Kevin Smith fan or not - stay well away from this garbage.

Honestly, the only reason I made it through this film is because I woke up and saw Canada own Olympic hockey gold, then Neil Young and William Shatner were in the closing ceremonies not even this film could kill that awesome buzz. Go Canada!
