The Downtown Business Improvement Association (DSBIA) is inviting the entire community to celebrate back to school with an array of familiar sights and sounds - and a few new ones.

The roar of Harleys and an outdoor concert with Bluesberry Jam at the Pavillion will be "an excellent way to celebrate going back to school," according to Tina Nowaczewski, DSBIA co-ordinator. "The entire community is encouraged to come out, see the bikes and groove to the tunes."

Rumble to the Rock I is a group social motorcycle ride organized by Trev Deeley of Harley Davidson, Vancouver. This is the first time this ride is coming to Ó£ÌÒÊÓƵand organizers are hoping to make this an annual event. Based on their previous experience when the event went to Whistler, up to 250 motorcycle enthusiasts took part.

The ride will be leaving Vancouver at 11 a.m. on Sunday (Sept 9) and is expected to arrive in downtown Ó£ÌÒÊÓƵbetween noon and 1 p.m. When they arrive there will be a barbecue presented by the Parkside Restaurant, entertainment at the Pavillion, farmer's market vendors, and the spectacle of hundreds of motorcycles and leather-clad riders. Riders are also encouraged to bring donations to the Ó£ÌÒÊÓƵFood bank.

There will also be an opportunity to "give Biathlon a shot." There will be two rifles and targets that people will be encouraged to try, with a little instruction.

"Don't worry about stray bullets though," said Nowaczewski. "Laser rifles are used."
