In less than 40 hours, two motorcyclists have died in B.C. in separate collisions.
The most recent occurred Sept. 19 at 4:20 a.m., according to Langley RCMP, whose officers responded to the collision in the eastbound lanes of Highway 1 at 240th Street.
A motorcycle and a car were travelling east on Highway 1 when police believed they collided.
The motorcyclist died at the scene, and has not been identified at this time.
On Sept. 17 at 5:30 p.m., on the Fraser Highway.
A 22-year-old man from Abbotsford was travelling west on his motorcycle on Fraser Highway when he collided with the front of a truck.
He died at the scene.
The two fatal crashes occurred less than 12 kilometres apart. Langley RCMP officers and Langley Fire Department responded to both fatal crashes.
July deadly month for traffic deaths
The Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service (ICARS) has been called out to assist in both collisions.
ICARS is responsible for the forensic reconstruction of collisions that result in serious injury or death between Pemberton and Boston Bar.
Roadways in British Columbia marked a sombre record as the deadliest July in the last two decades.
A total of 51 people died during motor vehicle accidents in the province in July.
The BC Coroners Service confirms the number of deaths was higher than what's typical during the summer months, and the highest over the past decade.
